Abstract
A compact gas cell uses propylene or propane to control the intensity of TEA CO2 lasers over a range of 1 to 10 to the minus 4th power. Attenuation of megawatt pulses is smoothly and easily obtained without polarization effects and free of temporal or spatial distortion.
