Abstract
The organization of the US Army personnel at the Civil Affairs and Security Assistance School, US Army Institute of Military Assistance, Fort Bragg, and the purpose of the Foreign Area Officers' Course are outlined and the energy workship discussions are described in some detail. Conclusions drawn during the workship concerning US oil interests abroad, the Arab-Israeli dispute, conflicting interests between Arab nations, and the significance of US aid and security assistance to the Middle East are given.
