Abstract
Authors suggest proof has been furnished that depth intoxication is not caused by retention of carbon dioxide, it beind understood, that any hypercapnia occurring will aggravate the disorders, after having made the onset of these disorders earlier and perhaps more insidious, and that depth intoxication is caused, in consequence of some mechanism still unknown by the so-called neutral gases when breathed under pressure. They do not think that a narcosis is involved - quite the contrary.
