Abstract
Closed-circuit television was investigated as a means of improving contrast during whiteout conditions at Yellowknife, N.W.T., in December, 1973. Cameras sensitive in the visible and near infrared portions of the electro-magnetic spectrum were used. Further studies included an investigation of the ability of these cameras to penetrate ice fog and the measurements of sky illuminance using a four spectral channel radiometer.
