- Abstract
- The work reviewed includes sea trials aboard a Canadian destroyer, in which direct bridge control was compared in terms of manoeuvring performance with the conventional voice ordered control system, the use of CCTV in several marine situations to complement voice communication and improve external vision in areas normally blind to bridge personnel, and the design of new bridges for several vessels; a general purpose frigate, a light ice- breaking vessel for the Canadian Coast Guard, a very large powerful icebreaker currently undergoing design studies for the Canadian Coast Guard.
