Abstract
In the report, we describe the mode of operation and the design of a Stark cell suitable for the frequency control of a local oscillator at 10 mu m, and we analyze its characteristics. Using the cell, a waveguide CW CO2 laser was tuned over plus or minus 100 MHz around the line center of the P(20) CO2 line, at 10.6 mu m and a long-term frequency stability better than plus or minus 1.5 MHz was achieved.
