Abstract
Decompression from experimental, training, and operational dives at the Defence and Civil Institute of Environmental Medicine has been carried out for a number of years by means of decompression computers instead of standard published tables. An evaluation program to determine and define the safe operational limits of the DCIEM XDC-2 digital decompression computer has been started using the Doppler ultrasonic bubble detector to assist in assessing the decompression stress of the dive profiles tested.
