Abstract
The report presents results obtained on the effects of elevated temperature and moisture absorption on the compressive strength and stiffness of AS1/3501-6 graphite-epoxy. The laminate selected for study was a symmetric balanced quasi-isotropic layup (0, plus or minus 45, 90)s because of its application to the F-18 fighter wing skin panels. For comparison purposes, both the four-point sandwich beam and "pure" compression IITRI-type fixtures were used.
