Abstract
Life Cycle Cost (LCC) Analysis is being applied increasingly to purchases and decisions in the military, government, industry and personal life. The overview of the subject is directed to individuals at the working level involved in the Defence Program Management System and the Life Cycle Management System. It describes what LCC is, why it should be considered and how it might be applied. Some of the problems in the application of LCC analysis in DND are discussed and approaches to their solution are suggested in the concluding section. The presentation by D Log A at the Life Cycle Materiel Management course offered at the Materiel Management Training Centre was the basis of this staff note.
