Abstract
An experiment was carried out to observe the effects of decompression on soft contact lens wearers. Three decompressions were carried out in a hypobaric chamber at 25,000 feet for 2.5 hours, 9,000 feet for 6.0 hours and a rapid decompression from ground level to 10,000 feet. Although minor changes were observed concerning eye comfort and tear film debris, these decompression schedules do not appear to be contraindicated for 15 mm soft contact lens use.
