Abstract
A digital system for analysing single-pulse or transient signals to two MHz is described. The system consists of a fast analogue-to-digital converter, a logic analyser, standard laboratory instruments, and inexpensive components, controlled by a microprocessor, with the data sent to a minicomputer for processing. The performance of the system is illustrated and its advantages and limitations are discussed. The system was used to study the harmonic content of ultrasonic pulses scattered by gas bubbles in a liquid.
