Abstract
Physiological comparisons of standard Canadian Forces impermeable rainwear manufactured using commercially-available moisture-vapour-permeable fabric (Gore-tex) were made under temperate and tropical ambient conditions. Amounts of perspiration produced and evaporated and changes in rectal temperature, mean weighted skin temperature, total body temperature and body heat content were measured. The significances of differences in results observed under various experimental conditions are discussed.
