Abstract
A new Fire Control Unit (Model No. 5) which has been developed for use with the Airburst Chemical Simulation System (ABCSS), has advantages over earlier models of compactness, reduced weight and improved electronic circuitry using GEL/CELLS as a self-contained power source. The unit has been used in a training exercise with troops where it was shown to be sufficienty robust to withstand rough handling, heat, rain and dust. Procedures for the operation and maintenance of the Fire Control Unit are described and drawings are presented to show details of its construction.
