Abstract
The Level of Repair (LOR) recommendation for any given repairable assembly is based on the economic assessment of whether the item should be repaired or discarded when it fails, and if repaired, at what maintenance level(s) the repair should take place. Consequently, due to the inventory, hardware, labour, training and space considerations involved, LOR decisions become important concerns for government and private industry. ALORA is a simplified yet versatile LOR analysis model that has been adapted for use on a TI-59 programmable calculator. It has been abbreviated from a complex and rather awkward USN MIL-STD-1390B LOR model. The versatility of ALORA permits ease of implementation both at government and corporate levels and the associated algorithms are flexible enough to assess LOR decisions for almost any deployed item.
