Abstract
The effects of tetamine on vascular smooth muscle were examined using the rabbit aortic strip and pulmonary artery preparations. Results were consistent with the view that the action of tetamine or vascular smooth muscle results from its ability to inhibit extraneuronal catecholamine uptake. A cocaine-like effect of this anesthetic was not found on the vascular tissues studied.
