Abstract
As a consequence of tasking by National Defence Headquarters, Directorate of Aerospace Support Engineering, during the past two years, the Medical Life Support Division (MLSD) of this Institute (DCIEM) has developed an "Interim" and a "Global" concept Rigid Seat Survival Kit (RSSK) for Canada's New Fighter Aircraft, the CF-18. The Interim Kit contains a vacuum-packed one-man life-raft and CF survival equipment, to an approved scale. The Global Kit concept embraces similar CF survival equipment, a vacuum-packed one-man life-raft and a containerized, pressure-packed Stencil SZ-1 arctic survival sleeping bag.
