Abstract
A liquid-filled ground burst chemical simulator (GBCS) has been developed at DRES. It consists of three basic components; a steel tray, a 2.6 L polyethylene bottle filled with a simulant and an explosives package containing 28" (0.7 m) of 50 grain/foot (10 g/m) primacord. The device is simple, rugged, easy to assemble, and is essentially leak-proof. However, its mass (approximates to 8.35 kg in total) may make it awkward to use in some situations.
