Abstract
A model has been developed which calculates Regular Officer Training Plan (ROTP) cadet populations at the three Canadian Military Colleges (CMCs) aggregated by Military Occupational Classification (MOC). Based on ROTP cadet intake, the model makes use of historical data in order to estimate subsequent academic year populations. The model is easy to modify since empirical constants are used to aggregate attrition and transfers by MOC. The model has been programmed for use on a TRS-80 microcomputer using VISICALC software. As a planning tool, the model may be used to analyse changes in CMC populations or ROTP officer production (by MOC) caused by varying cadet admission policies.
