Abstract
The results from the literature on scattering of interface waves from rough surfaces are surveyed, current up to the end of 1984. It is found that the frequency dependence of the attenuation length for Rayleigh wave scattering has been carefully examined, while the Scholte wave case remains relatively undeveloped. In addition, a proposal for future research on scattering of Scholte waves from rough surfaces is given.
