Abstract
The report describes a research contract to develop the dry end of a sea-going calibration system, referred to as SeaCal, for the Defence Research Establishment Atlantic. The system enables automated deep-water projector calibrations using swept sine signals. The signal source and measurement systems are based upon the use of two Hewlett-Packard HP3562A dynamic signal analyzers, enabling the sequential calibration of two projectors. The calibration measurements performed by SeaCal include the transmitting voltage response, admittance and impedance of a projector. Calibration results can be plotted and/or saved to disk files on either the HP3562A signal analyzer or system computer. The SeaCal system has been developed using the LabVIEW programming environment, to operate on a Macintosh computer.
