Abstract
The aim of this study was to identify and evaluate methods for using multiple frequencies in matched-field processors. The scope of the study included those methods which could be applied to frequency-domain matched-field processing (MFP) of cw waveforms, particularly in cases where the frequency varied slowly with time with a narrow band. As a first stage, a review of recent papers on the subject of multifrequency MFP was performed. This revealed the existence of several different wideband MFP techniques including vector-matching and matrix-matching methods, coherent and incoherent processors, and matrix-focussing procedures. the most promising of these techniques were identified and implemented in IDL.
