Abstract
The document is a guide for using the computer program VIBRO, an implementation of theoretical models presented in the DREA Report "Computational Evaluation of Decoupling and Damping Materials", DREA CR/96/427. This code allows the vibroacoustic response of a baffled, rectangular plate immersed in a heavy fluid on one side to be calculated, either with or without a noise reduction coating. The plate may be treated with four types of noise reduction coatings: a free viscoelastic material, a constrained viscoelastic material (sandwich plate), a decoupling material, or a sandwich plate covered by a decoupling layer. The execution speed of the code (written in C) is quite rapid and suitable for implementation on a PC based computer. The execution speed was increased by using frequency interpolation of the radiation impedance matrix, which is a smooth function of frequency. In addition to describing the options available for VIBRO and the structure of the input and output files, this report presents the algorithms used for the main types of calculation available in the program.
