Abstract
The report assesses the cost-effectiveness of five minehunting systems with respect to some 74 criteria, including technical performance, risk, operations, training, benefits to Canada, etc. The purpose is to recommend the optimal minehunting system specific to the Canadian Navy. Results show that the overall performance of the five minehunting systems is similar and that each one would satisfy the requirements of the Canadian Navy. However, detailed results of the subcriteria in the hierarchical evaluation structure revealed that the ISE Dolphin with an AN/AQS 14 towfish is the recommendable option.
