Abstract
The report presents the results from a qualitative rating exercise in which the contribution of 26 reconnaissance, surveillance, and target acquisition (RSTA) systems was assessed against sets of typical targets within three generic scenarios: war fighting, peacekeeping operations, and domestic operations. The aim is to provide guidance to the Canadian Land Forces on RSTA requirements at the battalion and brigade levels. The technique involved group brainstorming by experienced military officers and senior analysts, and included the application of straight forward ranking techniques.
