Abstract
The problem of identifying an appropriate cross-docking strategy for 25 Canadian Forces Supply Depot (CFSD) was investigated. Potential cross-docking strategies were developed and evaluated. Employing 1995 supply transaction data, simulations were conducted to identify the impact of the cross-docking strategies on 25 CFSD. It was concluded that cross-docking is not practical at 25 CFSD due to infrequent cross-docking opportunities and physical limitations at the depot which reduce the efficiency of cross-docking.
