Abstract
THe objective of this study was to determine which Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies and/or architectures are most appropriate for building a system which meets Air Command pre-requisites and which can be used to monitor world events, understand their significance with respect to Air Command operations, and take the appropriate actions. The results of the investigation are described in a four volume final project report. Volume II of the study contains the design of an Air Command prototype operations plan monitoring system. THe architecture selected was a distributed, hierarchical one, specifying various types of models at various levels of abstraction. The design is intended to be a framework for future implementation and further study of alternative model implementation algorithms.
