Abstract
A 50 MHz signal bandwidth acousto-optic (AO) correlator was tested using spread-spectrum (chirp and frequency hop) LPI signals in the presence of (a) broad-band noise and (b) in the presence of the broad-band noise with multiple narrow-band interference signals (NIS). An electronic adaptive feedback system, that is based on time-integrating CCD output, for automatic notching of NIS was developed and successfully tested. In addition, by using a beam-splitter, in front of the CCD array, a space-integrating output was obtained and was implemented for very fast notching of the NIS. A conference paper entitled "Time-Integrating Acousto-Optic Correlation in Gaussian Noise" was presented and published; a paper entitled "A Method for Estimating Optical Misalignment in a Time - Integrating AO Processor" was accepted for publication; a Ph.D. Dissertation "AO Processors for Detection of Radar Signals" was completed.
