Abstract
The report summarizes the state of development of the Soldier's Day data base of July 15th 1996. The Soldier's Day data base has undergone appreciable development in terms of improvements to the software interface, additional features, and expansions to the data base content. Many of these improvements and additions have been as a result of systematically gathered user feedback. Areas of appreciable improvement and expansion include the following: - interface design design including screen layout, menus, data item information, and icons; - ease of navigation including improved search capabilities, a hierarchical menu and tree structure; - improved inter-item linkages; - added help function; - added data base content in terms of Human Factors basics and Human Factors reference material; - improved notebook, copy and paste functions; - improvements to authoring software. The report also represents a number of options for the way ahead for the Soldier's Day data base.
