Abstract
This manual is an authoring guide for editing and maintaining A Soldier's Day multi-media database program. The following procedures are outlined in this manual; - adding, changing and deleting items; adding, deleting and moving associations; capturing, adding, deleting, moving and editing text, pictures, audio and video; updating trees; creating text output; editing search keys; writing CD-ROMS; and keeping records. This authoring manual will help guide you through the authoring features of the program. As well, style guides are provided, detailing the formats used when entering the data. This manual assumes that the author has a through working knowledge of A Soldier's Day and the associated software programs. For further information regarding the use of Soldier's Day, refer to A Soldier's Day User's Manual. A Soldier's Day is a multimedia database designed to inform and educate you about the world of the Canadian Forces dismounted infantry rifleman. With A Soldier's day at your fingertips, you can see high-resolution photographs, listen to soldier comemntary and audio clips, observe information presented in tables, graphs and schematics and view videos of soldiers in action. You can observe missions and tasks including Peackeeping, Conventional, and Nuclear, Biological & Chemical (NBC) Defence. TRUNCATED
