Abstract
The report describes a data capture approach to identify the key information needed for a dismounted Tactical Infantry Information System. This work was conducted under contract to the Defence and Civil Institute of Environmental Medicine as part of the Department of National Defence's Integrated Personal Clothing and Equipment (IPCE) project. The proposed method uses Cognitive Analysis techniques, a task-based scenario using sketch maps to closely match battle procedures typical of sub-unit infantry operations, and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to identify information needs during successive mission/tasks within each scenario.
