Abstract
The report describes a research contract to develop the dry end of a sea-going calibration system, referred to as SeaCAL, for the Defence Research Establishment Atlantic. The system enables automated underwater acoustic projector calibrations using swept sine signals. The signal source and measurement systems are based upon the use of a Hewlett-Packard HP3562A dynamic signal analyzer, enabling the sequential calibration of up to four projects. The calibration measurements performed by SeaCal include the transmitting voltage response, admittance and impedance of a projector. Calibration results can be plotted and/or saved to disk files on either of the PH3562A signal analyzer or system computer. The SeaCal system has been developed using the LabVIEW programming environment, to operate on a Macintosh computer.
