Abstract
This document defines the requirements for applying human factors engineering to the development and acquisition of military command and control information systems (CCIS). These requirements include the work to be accomplished by the acquisition agency during project development and requirements definition, and by the contractor or subcontractor in conducting a human factors engineering effort integrated with the total system engineering and development effort. These requirements are the basis for specifying human factors engineering requirements in the statement of work, proposal preparation, systems development and implementation. The requirements include human factors engineering in computer hardware and software design, equipment and facilities design, manuals preparation, design testing and reporting. The requirements are compatible with US MIL-STD-46855 and are intended to be tailored for each project.
