Abstract
This manual gives guidance on how to apply the "Guidelines for human factors engineering for Canadian Forces command and control information systems" (CCIS HFE Requirements Document). The requirements document includes the work to be accomplished by the acquisition agency during project development and requirements definition, and by the contractor or subcontractor in conducting a human factors engineering effort integrated with the total system engineering and development effort. The manual is intended primarily for procurement authority Project Managers (PM) and Project Management Office (PMO) staff who are responsible for managing and coordinating HFE activities, and to HFE personnel responsible for doing the HFE tasks specified in the CCIS HFE Requirements Document. The material reviews: the aims of HFE in CCIS development; HFE methods, and; developing and managing the HFE plan.
