- Abstract
- The focus of this work is to develop software to visualise data quality issues that result from the combination of two or more datasets. This work involved developing methodologies to quantify how ell the datasets fit together. WaterMark's approach was to develop Dataset Quality Profiles for datasets, based on information that can be obtained from within the datasets themselves. Once these Dataset Quality Profiles were constructed, users of the datasets were interviewed to get an understanding of what was important to them in their application. A Use Profile was then constructed based on this information. Both the Dataset Quality Profile and the Use Profile are based on measures against the quality parameters established from the previous quality work. The project resulted in the development of a series of automated software processes to extract quality parameters from single and combined datasets and to visualize the results in the Quality Viewer software developed previously.
