Abstract
Military Human Resource (HR) planners require analytical tools for establishing long-range population targets for the Canadian Forces (CF). One such tool is the Long Range Planning Model (LRPM), developed more than 20 years ago by the former Directorate of Manpower Analysis but no longer supported by Operational Research Defence Scientists. This paper describes the requirement for and development of a new LRPM based on career flow simulation techniques. A demonstration of this new methodology is given as well. Suggestions for applications and extensions of this approach are included.
