Abstract
In the paper the authors extend Mackenzie's (1961) model for bottom reverberation to handle reverberation arriving later than the second fathometer return. The model is then used to study the effects of the bottom scattering strength, bottom loss, and the contributions of the various ray paths on the bottom reverberation.
