Abstract
The model RANDI (v3.1) produces as output a number of ASCII and binary files, depending on the manner in which its various parts are run. On its original platform, a Sun SPARC Workstation, the model was supported by a suite of FORTRAN / Sun GKS programs that produced graphics output from the model's output data files. Although RANDI has been converted to run on an HP workstation, the graphics programs cannot be as simply converted because of their reliance on the machine-specific Sun GKS library. However, since the target computer has IDL installed, it was decided to rewrite the graphics programs in IDL. The contract that allowed RANDI to be converted to run on the HP also allowed a start to be made on rewriting the graphics programs in IDL. The current contract allowed for an "upgrade" of the existing IDL routines and the writing of some new ones.
