The purpose of this document is to provide a description of an exploratory development model (XDM) of a laser induced fluorescence lidar system integrated into a trailer. The development of the XDM was done within the contract INO 5217 (DREV ref. W7701-8-3502/001/XSK in coformity with the proposal INO 98-5217 P N/A. It is not the purpose of this document to provide the complete design description. The document rather gives an basic system description including the calibration data and alignment procedures. The document INO 99-5217TS R N/A entitled "Sinbahd project: trailer specifications" was delivered in January 2000 and provides a more detailed description of the anticipated trailer fitting-out. Although some basic description is given in the present document regarding the software, a more detailed description is presented in the XDM Software User Manual INO 99-5217SM R N/A. A brief system description is presented in seciton 2. Section 3 describes the way the measured signals are processed before being deisplayed and for calculating the bioaerosol concentration.
