Abstract
Long-term forecasts of solar activity may today be of interest not only to students of the geomagnetic field and the ionosphere, but also to meterologists studying the relationship of tropospheric processes to solar activity. Existing methods of making these forecasts cannot yet be regarded as worked out adequately for practical purposes, particularly as regards the forecasting of the even-numbered 11-year cycles of the double (22-year) solar cycle.
