Abstract
The VVES (Vibration of Visco-elastic and Elastic Structures) suite of programs are a group of Matlab codes for analysis and design of engine isolation systems composed of engine, raft and ground which are connected by visco-elastic isolators. Among these programs, VVESANALYSIS allows the dynamic characteristics of isolators to be described by frequency-dependent complex material properties. The VVESDYNSTIFF and VVES4POLE require input of the directly measured dynamic stiffnesses and the 4 pole parameter matrices, respectively. In order to simplify the construction of input files and provide an alternate method to view the VVES analysis results, a model generator and graphical user interface for the VVES programs has been recently developed. This model generator and GUI is developed for the Windows environment using the HOOD toolkit. Details of this development are documented in this report. The reader of this report is assumed to have a reasonably familiarity with the VVES programs and the HOOD's core components.
