Abstract
The profile of the Canadian population has changed dramatically over the last century. These changes are ongoing and accelerating in pace. Within fifity years, if curent trends persist, Canada will have a very different face. In this paper, some of the more important trends are highlighted using a wide array of data. This paper updates and expands upon some earlier demographic analyses by Aker et al (2000). The information presented in this paper is designed to better inform human resource managers within the Department and allow for the development of strategic HR planning.
