A MODIFIED THICKNESS DISTRIBUTION FOR MARINE PROPELLER BLADE SECTIONS

Abstract
A modified thickness distribution was designed for application to marine propeller blade sections. The resulting sections are 10 percent thicker than equivalent NACA-66 sections in the region of the leading edge. This thickening produced no significant penalty in cavitation or hydrodynamic characteristics. The calculations made for these sections are verified with high Reynolds number wind tunnel data.
