Abstract
The Debris Characterisation and Modelling (DeCaM) software was developed to quantitatively characterise experimentally BA-debris data and model or predict the characterise of BA-debris clouds generated in ballistic penetration events. Both the BA-debris characterisation and modelling require information describing the residual penetrator mass and velocity. The Multiple Plate Penetration Model (MPPM3) software was adopted by DeCaM to estimate residual penetration characteristics. In order to implement this software its operation and characteristics needed to be reviewed. The following report describes the MPPM3 software data requirements and output formats. In addition, the process by which the residual penetrator characteristics are estimated is described in terms of a pseduo code software description. The information in this report is published in the current document as a stand-alone report and as part of the project report describing improvements to the DeCaM software.
