Abstract
This report proposes, and includes the necessary plans for, the implementation of a world class PKI Laboratory and Testbed Facility (PKI Lab). The PKI lab would be used to investigate and evaluate security mechanisms and the issues arising from its deployment and operation in a military environment. The PKI lab would enable DRDC to further develop practical expertise in this field, to conduct research activities related to PKI and to provide expert advice to DND and other government departments. Initial research activities will focus on interoperability issues and the vulnerability of commercial implementations.
