Abstract
Workforce analysis is a key component of an effective Employment Equity (EE) program. The intention of the Canadian Forces (CF) workforce analysis is to perform a diagnostic examination of its workforce to identify if under-representation of designated group members exists in any military occupational group by comparison to a relevant external labour market. Designated group members include women, Aboriginal peoples, visible minorities and persons with disabilities. Results from the workforce analysis can identify potential problem areas and provide one indication of barriers that may exist in the employment systems, policies and practices of the CF. The main purpose of this report is to document the development of the methodology used to determine the external comparator for the CF workforce analysis. In addition, this report presents an overview of the data tables required for the workforce analysis in order to be in compliance with the EE Act, and its presents preliminary results using the methodology described in this report.
