Abstract
This paper documents a briefing presented to the Director of Logistics Business Management, Colonel M. Boomer and the Director of Air Requirements, Colonel D.C. Burt and their staffs. The topic was Modeling Deployment Lift for Operation Athena utilizing the Allied Deployment and Movement System (ADAMS) tool. This model was developed to address the transportation requirements of moving equipment and personnel from the Sea and Airports of Montreal to the Turkish Seaport of Derince with subsequent air movements from the Turkish Airport of Sabiha Gokcen into Kabul International Airport. The model was then utilized to study movement options under different operational constraints and to perform sensitivity analysis on the impact of load configurations, movement costs, time and operational requirements.
