Abstract
This report documents the work done to convert recorded multistatic sonar trial data to received signal level measurements. The signals were received at three hydrophones placed on the target submarine during Q246. The work was broken down into a number of tasks with several tasks involving the generation of reusable software components and analysis processes, allowing future work to be performed more efficiently. The received signals were digitized using the Environmental Acoustic Data Acquisition System (EADAQ) and processed using existing components from the Signal Processing Package (SPPACS) software suite. The Software Tools for Analysis and Research (STAR) Suite was then used to perform data analysis including test, calibration and measurement tasks. Analysis logs were imported into Microsoft Excel for archiving and final analysis of the results. Considerable efficiency was realized by using common databases, software and processes that Defence Research and Development Canada (DRDC) plans to reuse to perform similar tasks in the future. This document describes the processing and software environment used for the project.
