Abstract
A series of test cases, including a two-dimensional airfoil, flow over a prolate spheroid, and the Wigley, Dyne, and Kriso hulls, was used to validate TRANSOM, a flow solver developed at DRDC Atlantic. TRANSOM is quite sensitive to the quality of the grid. Suitable grids can be difficult to produce with the tools available. The results suggest changes to the boundary conditions to improve accuracy without requiring further restrictions on grid generation. Accurate results are obtained for most of the test cases.
