Abstract
The Precision Weapons Section of DRDC Valcartier developed a Simulink model for the TOW missile (Ref. [1]) along with Matlab scripts to simulate its behaviour. A parametric and a Monte Carlo study were requested by DRDC Valcartier to show the effects of the variations of the TOW missile's warhead mass and center of gravity position on its in-flight behaviour. Slight modifications are applied to the parameters of the nominal TOW model in order to include the data specific to the present studies. A parametric study was first performed to evaluate the performance of the TOW missile with different warhead mass and center of gravity position under given parameterized flight conditions [wind, range]. Then, a Monte Carlo study was performed with pointing angle and wind velocity as stochastic parameters. The present report describes the studies performed and their results.
