Abstract
Validation of models for human behaviour and performance has long been acknowledged as an essential element in the modelling process, but one that is typically conducted poorly if at all. While there may be many reasons that modellers do not validate models, one possibility is that there isn’t a formal methodology to provide guidance. This paper will explore a few techniques that may be applied to evaluating models of continuous processes, using the thermal physiological responses of healthy people working in adverse conditions as a demonstration of analyses that could be done. Having done this assessment, we then address the issue of the validity of this model.
